Obtaining openSUSE 11.4: Difference between revisions

THIS RELEASE IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED

This release was an Evergreen release, however supported has stopped and this release should be considered discontinued.

openSUSE is available from the following locations:

https://www.opensuse.org/en and then click the 'Get it' button.
- 4.7GB DVD installation - this is the most common and needed for conventional installations. (Direct/Torrent)
- Live-CD - useful for testing the distribution and is also very handy for recovery too as there is no repair system anymore. (Direct/Torrent)
- Network installation - installs the system from an internet repository or network repository. Only use with hard-wired Ethernet machines! (Direct only)

If I have already downloaded an ISO, they are currently available at \\thinkserver\Build\CD Images\ via Samba/Windows File share.
These downloads are obviously in the ISO format. These need burning to a CD/DVD, depending on which format you download. The image itself needs burning, not the image file. For more information, see Burning a CD/DVD image.
