Welcome to HP Server!

The aim of this Mediawiki project is to show how my server is set up. Hopefully, if there are any problems in the future (i.e. server needs rebuilding) then the guides will be available here. Hopefully when finished, I will keep this up-to-date and it should be a very comprehensive guide. I also hope to upload files to aid in the connected devices to this server.

This guide is based on:

  • openSUSE Leap 15.6
  • Apache Web Server (with PHP support) serving:
    • MediaWiki
    • A content management system/image server of some type, still to be decided
  • MariaDB Database Sever (MySQL drop-in replacement)
  • NTP time server
  • Samba server with Roaming Profiles (Samba server is running, roaming profiles to come)
  • Asterisk VoIP server/TFTP Server (Implemented as a virtual machine, running AsteriskNOW!)

To be implemented:

  • A complete NAS setup with streaming capabilities
  • NIS login/NFS file sharing (or another way to centralise Linux logins, maybe LDAP)
  • Mail server
  • Dynamic DHCP/DNS server
  • This list is set to grow!

These pages display well on an iPod or iPhone or an Android device!
