Welcome to ThinkServer

The aim of this Mediawiki project is to show how my server is set up. Hopefully, if there are any problems in the future (i.e. server needs rebuilding) then the guides will be available here. Hopefully I can keep this up-to-date and it should be a very comprehensive guide. I also hope to upload files to aid in the connected devices to this server.

This guide is based on:

• openSUSE Tumbleweed (Rolling Release) - see our rationale on the Tumbleweed link
• Apache HTTP Server (with PHP 7) serving:
  • MediaWiki (Me!)
  • Piwigo Photo Gallery
  • Wordpress cooking site
  • Nextcloud file server
• MariaDB Database Sever (MySQL drop-in replacement)
• NTP time server via chrony
• Samba file server
• Asterisk VoIP server/TFTP Server (Implemented as a Xen virtual machine, running AsteriskNOW!/FreePBX)
• Dynamic DHCP and DNS server - Removed due to using Google WiFi
• NFS file sharing
• strongSwan VPN Server with IKEv2, employing X.509 Certificates using new charon method of configuration.
• McAfee Common Updater repository over Samba (Updated at 19:00 UTC each day)
• distributed.net RC5-72 project, using spare CPU time

To be implemented:

• Mail server
• Samba Active Directory server (with Roaming Profiles/Folder Redirection)

These pages display well on an iPod or iPhone or an Android device! These pages are are now true mobile friendly.
